About
I am a folklorist, multimedia producer, and cultural arts administrator passionate about honoring the arts and culture that shape our communities.
Currently, I serve as the Executive Director of Long Island Traditions, where I work with artists, tradition bearers, and local institutions to preserve and celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of Long Island’s working waterfronts, neighborhoods, immigrant and indigenous communities. From oral history projects to public programming and preservation work, I help bring community traditions into public view with care and integrity.
Before joining Long Island Traditions, I worked with Traditional Arts Indiana, the Alan Lomax Archive at the Association for Cultural Equity, and the IU Center for Rural Engagement, documenting local cultures, producing radio and video pieces, and training others in storytelling and folklife documentation. Whether I'm behind a microphone, in the field with a camera, or collaborating with artists and educators, my goal is always to make space for authentic voices and enduring traditions.
I hold a dual M.A. in Folklore & Ethnomusicology and Media Arts from Indiana University, and a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College.
My work is grounded in the belief that everyone’s story matters—and that when we listen closely, we learn what connects us.
